The mission of Sustainable Marin is to make Marin County more sustainable by catalyzing local climate-based non-profits, conveying and discussing sustainability best-practices within our communities, and collaborating with our town councils and citizens to establish sustainable policies.

HOW SUSTAINABLE MARIN GROWS GRASSROOTS
Sustainable Marin provides opportunities for people to plug in and get involved in climate change initiatives. From programs like Resilient Neighborhoods and Green Home Tours, they learn how to take individual action to live more sustainably. With Green Change and A Time to Lead on Climate people can meet other like minded people and find out what is going on locally and nationally. Signing up to the Climate Rapid Response Network or joining/creating a chapter, folks can get involved in policy changes in their own communities to reduce their climate footprint. And finally, we sponsor passion projects, like Painted Bins or Amazon Boxes providing the non-profit fiscal sponsorship. The individual Sustainable Marin Chapters serve residents of Mill Valley, Novato and San Rafael, while the projects reach out to the entire county.
