Patrick Hilt

CTO at SustainCERT

Patrick Hilt has a strong background in technology and leadership roles, specifically as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Their most recent position is as the CTO at SustainCERT, a role they started in March 2021. Prior to that, they served as the CTO at Raisin from May 2020 to February 2021 and at KNEIP from October 2017 to May 2020. From November 2014 to October 2017, Patrick was the CTO at MIRACL.

Before their positions as CTO, Patrick held various roles at Skype, starting as the Chief Mobile Architect and Head of Mobile Device Engineering from June 2010 to April 2013. Patrick then became the Head of Engineering for the Skype Big Data Platform from December 2011 to May 2012, and finally the Director of Engineering for Skype Business Operations from April 2013 to November 2014.

Earlier in their career, Patrick worked as a Consulting Architect at Qualcomm from March 2009 to June 2010. Prior to that, they co-founded Aftertising Inc. / Mezz0.com, serving as the Co-Founder, CTO, and Architect from January 2009 to June 2010. Before starting their own company, they were the Director of Firmware Engineering at DriveCam Inc. from November 2006 to January 2009.

Patrick also had brief tenures as an Operating Platform Consultant / Architect at Ortiva Wireless Inc. from May 2006 to November 2006 and as the Co-Founder and CEO of PhiTronix Inc. from May 2003 to November 2006. At PhiTronix, they focused on creating and selling the PhiTronix Real-Time Embedded Linux distribution and providing development and consulting services for embedded Linux and Java products in the mobile and media device market.

Patrick Hilt began their education in 1992 at Universität des Saarlandes, where they pursued a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Telecommunications. Patrick completed their degree in 1998. Later in 1998, Patrick attended UC San Diego for a one-year program and obtained a Certificate in Embedded Software Engineering in 1999.
