The Trust was established to liquidate assets of SVB Financial Group (“SVBFG” or the “Debtor”) following the effectiveness of SVBFG’s chapter 11 plan. The Trust’s Venture Capital Assets include five broad investment categories: Warrant Investments, Direct Investments, LP Fund Investments, GP Fund Investments, and Other Investments. The Trust also manages various legal rights on behalf of its stakeholders. 

SVBFG’s chapter 11 proceedings commenced on March 17, 2023, when SVBFG filed for bankruptcy relief in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (the “Bankruptcy Court”) and was assigned case number 23-10367. On August 2, 2024, the Honorable Martin Glenn, Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court, entered the Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Order Confirming the Debtor’s Second Amended Plan of Reorganization Under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code [Docket No. 1379] (the “Confirmation Order”), pursuant to which the Bankruptcy Court approved and confirmed the Debtor’s Second Amended Plan of Reorganization Under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, attached as Exhibit A to the Confirmation Order (including the Plan Supplement and all other exhibits and schedules thereto, the “Plan”). Thereafter, on November 7, 2024, the Plan became effective (the “Effective Date”) [Docket No. 1563].
