Emma Risén is currently the Forsknings och utvecklingsledare at Svenskt Vatten, a position held since 2024. Previously, they served as a Project Manager at the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS) from 2019 to 2023 and held roles as a Dagvatteningenjör at Nacka vatten och avfall AB and as a Process och utredning at Sweco Environment AB. Emma began their academic journey with a Ms. Sc. in Biotechnology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and continued as a PhD candidate at the same institution, completing their doctoral degree in 2014. They also contributed as an Undergraduate Researcher at Cornell University in 2008.
