Torben Knast has extensive experience in the maritime engineering field, beginning with an apprenticeship as a machinist at Marstal Motorfabrik from August 1978 to February 1982. Following this, Torben worked as an engineer at Rederiet Kroman and Rederiet Peter Jørs, gaining practical experience in coaster operations. From March 1989 to May 2002, Torben held various engineering positions at J. Lauritzen A/S, ultimately advancing to 1st Engineer and Chief Engineer. Subsequently, from September 2002 to October 2020, Torben served as Chief Engineer and SQE Officer at TORM A/S, contributing to the SQE team starting in March 2014. Currently, Torben is the Chief Engineer at Svitzer since October 2020, continuing a long-standing career in marine engineering.
