The SWAG (Social Worker Appreciation of Greatness) Alliance Foundation exists to make sure the people who do the heart work aren’t doing it alone.

What began as the annual SWAG Awards; a sold-out celebration honoring the dedication and impact of social workers has grown into a year-round mission to recognize, support, and sustain the social work workforce. Since launching, we’ve honored nearly 100 social workers across the Greater Pittsburgh region, spotlighting their contributions and elevating the profession’s value.

But recognition is just the beginning. The demands of the field are relentless, and too many talented professionals leave due to burnout, financial barriers, or lack of support. We’re here to change that.

Our year-round programs include:

Licensure Assistance: covering exam prep and fees so social workers can advance without financial roadblocks.

Workforce Wellness: workshops, trainings, and initiatives to prevent burnout and foster healthy, supportive workplaces.

Professional Development: equipping social workers with leadership, advocacy, and resilience skills to thrive in their careers.

Our Impact:

Nearly 100 social workers recognized for excellence and servant leadership.

Financial support for licensure, helping more professionals enter and remain in the field.

Wellness and professional development programs that strengthen retention and morale.

Why Partner with Us:
When social workers thrive, entire communities benefit. Your investment fuels workforce retention, strengthens essential services, and ensures the people serving our most vulnerable neighbors have the tools and support they need to keep going.

📍 Rooted in Pittsburgh. Growing everywhere social workers make a difference.

Because when you invest in social workers, you’re investing in stronger communities, healthier families, and a future where no one doing the heart work has to do it alone.
