All of our clothes are free for all, but what's in it for us? WashU alone generates millions of pounds of waste each year, much of which is still functional. It is easier to throw out an item than re-home it. SWAP wants to change that.

Since our founding, we have distributed about $116,042 worth of merchandise, diverting 5 tons of waste from landfills. Our free thrift store is run on clothing donations and open to anyone to take what they need, no "swapping" necessary. Our move-in sale gives used appliances a second life; these perfectly functional items would have otherwise ended up in the landfill.

SWAP connects students and the St. Louis community with sustainable practices, proving that small changes can add up to something big. We're a small, passionate team driven by the goal of limiting overconsumption and making it easy to choose sustainability. By driving the cycle of re-use and exchange in WashU and St. Louis, we remind each other of our shared community while combatting waste and making items accessible and affordable.
