CEO, Founder at Swappa

Ben Edwards has a long history of work experience in software development, beginning in 1999 with the founding of Synthis Corporation. In 2002, they began working as a Training Developer and Instructor for Hal Helms, Inc., developing training material and courseware for five-day introductory courses on Java and object-oriented programming and the Mach-II framework for ColdFusion. Ben then worked at Uhlig, LLC as an Applications Developer from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, they founded Redbird Software, a company for personal projects and business endeavors. From 2010 to 2011, they worked at Sprint Nextel as a Product Development Specialist (Android), working on their primary Android application called Sprint Zone. In 2011, they began working at MobiTV as a Senior Mobile Applications Developer, developing software for streaming Live TV, TV on Demand, and Movies to a variety of mobile devices and platforms. In 2010, they founded Swappa, a marketplace for buying and selling used mobile technology, where they served as CEO and Founder. In 2021, over $100M in gently used tech was bought and sold by Swappa users.

Ben Edwards obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 1998 and 2003.
