Sofia Andersson is an experienced development engineer with a robust background in environmental microbiology and wastewater treatment. Currently serving as a development engineer at Sweco since March 2022, Sofia previously held roles at Stockholm Vatten as a development engineer from August 2015 to March 2022 and as a process specialist in wastewater treatment at Sweco from February 2012 to August 2015. Additionally, Sofia has academic experience as a lecturer at Ardhi University and a post-doc in environmental microbiology, where efforts included optimizing a laboratory for environmental biotechnology and researching biogas production. Consulting for CIT Urban Water Management AB initiated Swedish clean-tech cooperation, while early research as a PhD student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology focused on bacterial biofilms in wastewater treatment. Sofia holds a PhD in Environmental Microbiology and an MSc in Chemical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, complemented by a diploma in Spanish from Universidad de Zaragoza.
