Lars Hammarsten

Lars Hammarsten has extensive legal and tax experience, currently serving as the Head of Group Legal Swedish Banking at Swedbank since September 2006. In this role, Lars oversees Financial Operational Taxes and HR Legal, managing withholding taxes, CRS, Fatca compliance, and tax reporting for tax authorities. Additionally, Lars holds the position of Acting Head of the CLO Office, which handles group functions within the Legal organization, and previously served as Head of Group Operational Taxes, focusing on client and product-related tax issues within the Swedbank group. Lars also currently works as a Tax Counsel for Sparia Group Försäkrings AB and has held leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board of Directors at Wistrand Advokatbyrå and as a Biträdande Jurist. Lars began a career in tax law as a Skattejurist at Skatteverket. Lars holds a Jur kand degree from Umeå University.
