John Cantlen

John Cantlen has extensive experience in the construction industry, starting in 1996 with Barry Swenson Builder as a Senior Project Manager. In this role, they provided general contracting project management skills for a variety of projects, including ground-up commercial, residential, and institutional facilities, as well as structural retrofit and historical renovation projects. Cantlen worked with the company until 2016.

In 2017, Cantlen joined SWENSON as a Project Executive, where they continued their expertise in construction management. John later advanced to the role of Vice President of Construction in January 2023.

John Cantlen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations at the University of Southern California from 1986 to 1990. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications including OSHA 30-hour safety training, Procore Certified: Associate, OSHA 10-hour training, Practical BIM, and GBCI-LEED accredited professional.
