Scott Steinberg

Scott Steinberg is the current VP of the Program Management Office at Swift Navigation. Prior to that, they worked as a Sr. Satellite Operations Engineer at Loral Skynet from August 2001 to March 2003. There, they provided technical support for the safe operation of all satellites controlled by Skynet. Scott also led contingency operations for all on-orbit anomalies, established metrics to assess overall health of satellite sub-systems, and created and implemented new processes and procedures to improve the team’s ability to rapidly respond to anomalous satellite conditions. From March 2003 to October 2018, they were the Director of Mission Engineering & Operations at SSL. There, they directed a team of approximately 100 individuals responsible for the design, deployment, and integration of turnkey ground control systems at customers’ facilities; providing customers with operational services and products for the operation of SSL satellites; performing 24/7 operations during launch and initial on-orbit testing phases within SSL; and providing the lifetime support and maintenance of all products delivered. Scott also assembled and directed multi-disciplined teams, built and maintained relationships, developed KPIs, provided leadership and assistance in the development of technical requirements definition, major program milestones and detailed schedules, key inter-team dependencies and hand-offs, and any necessary course corrections during program execution. In addition, they established monthly program reviews, created a culture of “value-add”, emphasized continual improvement, acted as a change leader, developed an organizational vision and directed the three year plan to accomplish goals, and provided mentorship to direct reporting managers and lower level individual contributors.
