Peter de Gersem

Peter De Gersem is a seasoned security management professional with extensive experience in information security. Currently serving as Principal Security Management Specialist and Head of Governance at Swift since July 2008, responsibilities include managing risks, defining security requirements, and leading initiatives like the Secure Software Initiative. Previously, Peter held the role of Principal Security Consultant at Ascure, where leadership in Application Security and project delivery was key, and at Ubizen and Cybertrust, focusing on application and infrastructure security. Peter began a career in academia as a Ph.D. candidate at K.U.Leuven, researching wavelet applications in signal processing. Peter holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven.
