Matt Caffrey

Matt Caffrey has a diverse range of work experience, beginning in 2011 with an internship at The Ohio State University. In 2011, they also worked as a Quality Control employee at Professional Petition Management, where they entered petition data and reviewed submissions for conservative activists. At Environment Ohio, from 2011 to 2012, Matt served as a State Field Associate, building political power for the environmental movement through coalition building and organizing grassroots pressure on elected officials. In 2012, they worked as a Field Organizer for Obama for America, organizing various communities and leading a team that registered over 13,000 Ohio State students. Later that year, Matt became a Field Organizer at America Votes, coordinating grassroots campaigns and earning media coverage while pressuring Republican members of Congress.

From 2013 to 2015, Matt was employed at Enroll America, first as an Organizer and then as the Training and Data Director. In their roles, they built teams, organized training programs, and produced reports on field metrics. Following that, Matt worked at Spark Clean Energy as the Director of Outreach and Student Programs in 2015, where they collaborated with stakeholders to promote student involvement in clean energy innovation.

Starting in 2016, Matt worked at Civic Nation as the Director of Engagement and Advocacy. In this role, they promoted the development of free community college programs across the nation, advised high-level stakeholders, and helped expand the College Promise Campaign. Finally, in 2018, Matt joined Swing Left as the Senior Director of Grassroots Community Organizing. Overall, Matt has vast experience in grassroots organizing, campaign management, advocacy, and program development.

Matt Caffrey obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.
