Olivier Verscheure

Olivier Verscheure is a Titular Professor at EPFL since March 2024 and the Founder & Director of the Swiss Data Science Center, which focuses on bridging theory and practical applications in data science and artificial intelligence. Since November 2019, Olivier has served on the Foundation Council of SWITCH, contributing to ICT solutions for academic and global competitiveness. Additionally, Olivier holds a board member position at Lonza and has been an expert member of the Mobility 4.0 working group for the Federal Roads Office FEDRO, where strategic mobility projects in Switzerland are defined with an emphasis on automated and connected vehicles. Prior to these roles, Olivier spent 17 years at IBM as Program Director and Senior Research Manager in Big Data Analytics and Systems. Educationally, Olivier holds a PhD in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from EPFL, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons.
