Mary Noé

CEO and Cofounder at Switchback Systems

Mary Noé has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Mary is currently the CEO and Co-founder of Switchback Systems, a position they have held since January 2020. Prior to that, Mary was self-employed and working on a new project from April 2019 to December 2019. Mary also worked as a Senior Development Scientist at Synthego Corporation from January 2018 to March 2019.

Before their time at Synthego, Mary held positions at Twist Bioscience, where they served as a Senior Scientist from December 2016 to December 2017, and as a Staff Scientist from July 2015 to December 2016. Mary gained research experience as a Research Scientist at Agilent Technologies from November 2013 to July 2015.

Mary's career began at the University of California, San Diego, where they worked as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student from September 2005 to June 2012. Prior to that, they were a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 2003 to 2005, where they focused on the synthesis, purification, and analysis of borane phosphonate DNA in the laboratory of Marvin H. Caruthers.

Mary Noé earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Colorado Boulder, from 2000 to 2004. Mary then pursued further education at UC San Diego, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Organic Chemistry, completing their studies from 2005 to 2012. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Mary attended Boulder High School from 1995 to 1999.
