Alec Weiss

Alec Weiss is an experienced Embedded Software Engineer currently working at Swoop Search since January 2022. Previously, Alec served as a Graduate Student Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from August 2017 to January 2022, where notable contributions included developing measurement techniques for LTE and 5G devices and software for wideband wireless measurements. Concurrently, Alec was a PhD Candidate and researcher at the Colorado School of Mines, focusing on Monte Carlo techniques to enhance channel estimation for fifth-generation millimeter-wave systems. Earlier academic roles include an undergraduate researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder and an electrical engineering intern at United Launch Alliance. Alec holds a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
