Michael Brown

Vice President, Innovation at South by Southwest

Michael Brown has a diverse work experience with roles in various companies. Michael started their career as a General Manager at Einstein Bros. Bagels in 1997 before transitioning to a role as the Configuration Management Roadmap Project at Dell, Inc. in 2002. In 2003, they became the IT Director at CD3, Inc. where they worked until 2010. During their time at CD3, they also held positions as a Technical Project Manager and a Sr. Technical Project Manager. In 2016, they joined SXSW as the Director of Emergent Technologies and later became the Director of Innovation. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President, Innovation at SXSW.

Michael Brown attended The University of Montana-Western from 1995 to 1996. Michael then transferred to Austin Community College where they studied from 1996 to 1998, although no degree or field of study information is provided for this period. Following that, Michael Brown went on to study at the Texas McCombs School of Business from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors, specializing in Management Information Systems.
