Sydney TMS is leading the way in providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation outpatient treatment in Sydney. TMS is a significant advance for patients who have failed other anti-depression treatment. TMS uses pulsating magnetic stimulation applied directly over the scalp to reactivate parts of the brain affected by depression. TMS is not new. It has been researched and developed for over 15 years and has been approved for use in Australia, US and Europe since 2008.

For many people struggling to overcome depression, Sydney TMS offer a long awaited treatment modality in Sydney. Before TMS, patient who failed medication treatment only had the option of ECT ( Electric Convulsive therapy) a treatment that is not acceptable to many because it, requires hospitalisation, anaesthetic and potentially causing significant memory loss. TMS treatment does not require hospitalisation, requires,no sedation, no pain, no needles, no hassles and no memory loss.

TMS is one of the most tolerable treatment available is also very effective. Because TMS is directly stimulating the underlying brain, there is no side effects such as nausea, reduced libido, weight gain, sleep problems as are commonly seen with many medication. TMS is also extremely safe and this is why it can be offered to patients at a doctors surgery and does not require hospitalisation.

Medicare now subsidises TMS therapy for eligible patients. Visit our website to see if you meet the criteria or give us a call. Referrals are essential.
