In 1862 our business was founded by Joseph Sykes, trading fresh and frozen seafood from Old Smithfield Market in the heart of Manchester; Sykes Seafood has come a long way since the 19th century becoming one of the UK’s leading independent frozen seafood suppliers. Our history provides extensive knowledge which is mirrored by our high-quality products and well-known brands; Arctic Royal, Ocean Classic, Clear Seas and Glenmyr. 

Our growth as one of the biggest names in Seafood has been supported by the acquisition of Klaas Puul BV, Ruskim Seafoods Ltd, and The Big Prawn Company. Sykes now has a vast distribution network, vehicle fleet, and multiple production facilities in the UK, Netherlands, and Morocco. Our ISO9001 accreditation means that you can be assured that the highest quality seafood is delivered to you in the best condition. We strictly adhere to IUU Fish EU regulations and can proudly display the blue MSC ecolabel.

In April 2023, we moved to a new distribution hub and head office based in Warrington, to accommodate our growing team and huge product range, where we offer a daily national delivery service, with Coldstore picking and dispatch. We are experts in supplying mixed-pallets in multiple-pallet quantities to foodservice groups, independent wholesalers, retailers, processors, and restaurants.
