Jess Vander has a diverse work experience in strategy and research roles. Jess started as a Research Intern at Alina Wheeler in 2014, followed by a Strategy Intern position at Publicis Seattle in 2015. In 2016, they worked as a Strategist at JaegerSloan Studio. From 2017 to present, they joined SYLVAIN, where they progressively took on roles as a Strategy Intern, Strategist, Lead Strategist, and currently serves as the Director of Strategy. At SYLVAIN, they have led teams in brand positioning, architecture, future-casting, and design, working with clients such as BlackRock, The New York Times, Google, and Spotify. Additionally, they are involved in content production as the Executive Producer for the Critical Nonsense podcast and Co-Editor for the Progress Report newsletter.
Jess Vander attended the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business from 2012 to 2016, pursuing a Bachelor's of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a specialization in Marketing.
