Alphonso Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and industries. Alphonso began their career as a Business Analyst at Bethune-Cookman University in 2014, where they were responsible for analyzing business activities and processes to improve efficiency through the use of IT resources. Alphonso also worked as an Application Specialist during their time at the university. In 2020, Alphonso transitioned to the education sector and became a Mathematics Teacher at George Washington Carver Freshman Campus. After two years in this role, they moved on to become an Information Systems Specialist at Coffee County Board of Education in 2022. Currently, Alphonso holds the position of System Engineer at Symbotic since November 2022.

Alphonso Thomas obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Morehouse College, where they attended from 2008 to 2013. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership at Bethune-Cookman University from 2017 to 2018.
