Bee Vang

Principal Embedded Controls Engineer at Symbotic

Bee Vang has a strong background in robotics and control engineering. They started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at MIT Tangible Media Group in 2010 and subsequently worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at MIT Museum in 2011 and MIT Robotic Mobility Group in 2012. In 2013, Bee Vang had an internship at Briggs & Stratton before joining Symbotic as a Control Engineer. In this role, they developed software packages for visualizing and diagnosing robot failures, troubleshooted hardware failures, and designed controls and behaviors for new maintenance robots. Bee Vang then moved on to become a Doctoral Research Fellow at Boston University from 2016 to 2021. Following that, they worked as a Robotics Engineer at GreenSight from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Bee Vang is working as a Principal Embedded Controls Engineer at Symbotic.

Bee Vang obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology during the period of 2009 to 2013. Later on, Bee pursued further education and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University from 2016 to 2021. In addition to their academic achievements, Bee Vang also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in September 2014.
