Derek Borbon is a System Engineer at Symbotic, where innovative automation technologies are developed to transform supply chain logistics. Prior to this role, Derek worked as an Operator and Mechanical Engineer at Tidal Force VR, managing client interactions and performing CAD modeling for a virtual reality startup. In addition, Derek was a Robotics Research Assistant at Universidad de Cantabria, leading independent research in robotics. As the Alumni Operations Lead for Hack.Diversity's Mechanical Engineering Track, Derek successfully managed a team of engineers on various projects. Derek's prior experience also includes a position as a Settings & Optimization Engineer at Formlabs, focusing on validating settings and addressing engineering challenges. Derek holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Spanish from the University of Rhode Island and graduated from Fair Lawn High School with a diploma.
