Göran Verspui

Göran Verspui is a seasoned professional in drug development and process research, currently serving as Sr. Director of Drug Development at Symeres since January 2022, overseeing projects from clinical candidate nomination to drug substance delivery for clinical trials. Previously, Göran held the role of Director of Process Research at Symeres (MercachemSyncom) from July 2017 to January 2022, where efforts focused on integrating drug development services across various European sites. Beginning a career at Mercachem BV in 2005, Göran co-founded Mercachem Process Research BV, creating a specialized team for process chemistry services. Prior experience includes a position as Team Leader in Chemical Development at Avantium Technologies from 2000 to 2005, where techniques in High Throughput Experimentation were applied to develop chemical production processes. Göran holds a PhD in Chemistry with a focus on Homogeneous Catalysis from Delft University of Technology, complemented by a Master's degree from Utrecht University and a Bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
