Previously, Derek held the position of IT Manager at Symetra, managing various IT teams across different divisions. Prior to this, Derek worked at Family Life Insurance Company as a Developer/IT Manager and at Western Data Corporation as a Developer, where responsibilities included agent compensation and developing software solutions. Derek began the professional journey at Texaco, Inc. as a Programmer Analyst. Educationally, Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Trinity University, obtained in 1982.
