Senior Scientist Cell Culture at Symphogen

Daniel Johansson has extensive work experience in the field of biopharmaceuticals and fermentation. Daniel began their career as a Research Engineer at Gramineer in 2000, where they worked until 2003. Daniel then moved on to Biovitrum as a Laboratory Engineer in 2005, and later joined AstraZeneca as a Scientist in Purification in 2006.

In 2007, Daniel joined Novozymes biopharma as a Fermentation and Recovery Scientist, where they worked on technology transfer projects and served as a project team leader for process validation. Daniel remained with Novozymes until 2011, when they transitioned to Repligen Sweden as a Fermentation & Recovery Scientist, focusing on process support and optimization.

Daniel's career continued to progress as they joined Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd as a Fermentation Scientist in 2013, followed by a role as a Fermentation pilot scientist at Novo Nordisk A/S later that year. In these positions, they were responsible for planning and managing fermentation production campaigns for clinical trials, as well as coordinating activities with various departments.

In 2017, Daniel joined BioInvent International AB as a Process Engineer Cell Culture, where they played a key role in monoclonal antibody development, process development of cell culture, and production for clinical phases. Daniel also took part in purification processes and performed general GMP tasks.

After their tenure at BioInvent, Daniel joined Repligen Corporation in 2020 as a Senior Scientist, where they continued to contribute their expertise until 2022. Currently, they work at Symphogen as a Senior Scientist in Cell Culture.

Throughout their career, Daniel has demonstrated a strong background in fermentation, process optimization, technology transfer, and project management within the biopharmaceutical industry.

Daniel Johansson attended The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University from 1994 to 2000, where they obtained a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
