Olivier Richaud

Olivier Richaud has a strong background in technical platforms and cloud infrastructure management. Olivier currently holds the position of Vice President, Technical Platforms & SRE at Symphony since 2019. In this role, they are responsible for global management of platforms, cloud infrastructure, and core services at Symphony across multiple regions. Olivier oversees various aspects such as site reliability engineering, CI/CD, datastores, communications, and technical relationships with external providers. Olivier is also involved in architecture and aims to build a top-notch cloud platform for the finance industry. Additionally, they manage a team of 80+ engineers located in the US, France, and APAC.

Prior to their current role, Olivier worked at Amadeus for over a decade. From 2017 to 2019, they served as a Senior Manager, responsible for the cloud engineering of the Amadeus Shopping Platform. This platform operated across multiple cloud providers and involved tasks such as technical architecture, middleware development, and monitoring. Before that, they held the role of Senior Manager, API management and Web Services from 2016 to 2017. In this position, Olivier oversaw the API management and Web Services platform supporting all Amadeus products. Olivier managed a team of over 65 engineers across different locations.

Olivier also played a significant role in the Amadeus Cloud Services project from 2013 to 2016 as a Senior Expert. Olivier led the project, which aimed to establish a new platform for cloud operations using technologies like Kubernetes, OpenStack, and Google Cloud Platform. Olivier was responsible for selecting partners, such as Red Hat, and introducing DevOps practices. Prior to their involvement in cloud services, they served as a Team Lead and Architect for the Hotel shopping platform from 2007 to 2013. Olivier contributed to technical pre-sales and played a key role in driving the technical architecture of the Hotel Platform.

Olivier Richaud has a strong educational background in computer science. Olivier obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from Université Côte d'Azur, where they studied from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Master's Degree in Computer Science at Polytech Marseille, attending from 1993 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Olivier has also acquired certifications to further enhance their expertise. In May 2022, they completed the "Google Cloud Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure" certification offered by Coursera. In August 2020, they earned the title of "Triplebyte Certified Generalist Software Engineer" from Triplebyte.
