Vinay Mistry

Vinay Mistry has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Vinay started their career in 1998 as a Systems Administrator at Sanwa Bank / Toyo Information Systems Ltd, where they were responsible for systems administration in the ISP and ecommerce business. From 2002 to 2004, they worked as a Server Support Analyst at Haymarket Media Group, ensuring the continuous online presence of over 60 Haymarket Publication websites.

In 2004, Vinay joined Thomson Reuters as a Project Executive in the Infrastructure Engineering Team, where they delivered infrastructure support for various projects. Vinay then moved on to become a Project Implementation & Support Executive, responsible for administration, support, and project implementation for Reuters Trading platforms. In 2011, they became a Technical Architect at Thomson Reuters, producing project implementation architecture documentation and defining solution designs for various technologies. In 2012, they transitioned to the role of Lead Architect, working with business teams to define the architectural roadmap for the Unified Communications service.

In 2013, Vinay joined Markit as a VP, Solution Architect, where they played a key role in architecting and delivering Markit Federated Instant Messaging. Vinay also designed and implemented the single-sign-on solution for Markit Financial Directory. From 2014 to 2017, they took on the role of Senior Solutions Architect at Symphony.com, driving developer adoption and integration of Symphony. Vinay then became the Developer Relations Technical Lead at Symphony.com in 2017, focusing on fostering a thriving developer community.

Most recently, Vinay joined FINOS in 2022 as an FDC3 Maintainer, where they are currently hosting the Context Data and Intents discussion group for the standard. Throughout their career, Vinay has demonstrated expertise in technical architecture, project implementation, support, and collaboration services, enabling seamless integration and improving user experiences.

Vinay Mistry obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer Communications from the University of Greenwich. Vinay studied at the university from 1995 to 1998. Prior to that, Vinay pursued a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Information Systems at the same institution, studying from 1993 to 1995.

In terms of additional certifications, Vinay has obtained several. In August 2023, they received a certification called "Getting It Right With Open Source Program Office's" from Source Code Control Limited. In July 2023, they completed the "Learn Python 3 Course" from Codecademy. Furthermore, in November 2009, Vinay acquired the "VMware Infrastructure 3.5: Install and Configure" certification from VMware. Vinay also obtained the "VMware Infrastructure 4: Install and Configure" certification, again from VMware, in the same month and year. In January 2008, Vinay earned the "Sun Certified Systems Administrator – Solaris 10 Part I & II" certification from SUN. Finally, in September 2007, they became a certified Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) from Cisco.
