William Yap has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and site reliability engineering. William currently works at Symphony.com as the Lead Site Reliability Engineer / DevOps Engineer, starting in April 2019. Prior to this, they worked at Bloomberg LP as a Senior Software Engineer for six years, from July 2013 to April 2019. At Bloomberg LP, their role involved developing internal Platform as a Service (PaaS) applications on Kubernetes as a DevOps engineer and maintaining the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Jenkins platform. William also developed applications in various languages including Python, C++, SQL, Ruby, Rails, Vue.js, Java, XML/XSL/XSLT, and Ansible. Before their time at Bloomberg LP, William worked as a Software Engineer at Sears Holdings Corporation from September 2012 to July 2013. In this role, they developed monitoring solutions in C, C++, Python, Java, and Javascript for technology infrastructure. William also worked on solutions for collecting, storing, and analyzing metrics, including work with Graphite, time series databases, and web apps for managers and the monitoring team.

William Yap attended Loyola University Chicago from 2002 to 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics. William then went on to attend the Ave Maria School of Law from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree, specializing in Law.
