Karen Borba has a long and successful career in software and business analysis. In 2000, they began their career as a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Intel Corporation. Here, they automated tests using Mercury Interactive, IBM Rational, and SilkTest tools. Karen then moved on to become a Software Quality Assurance Consultant at CalPERS in 2009. In this role, they were part of the system test group for a back end system that interfaced data from an upstream system. After this, they became a Senior Business System Analyst at the California Department of Correction (SOMS) in 2016. Here, they worked with subject matter experts and stakeholders in the design and development of detailed requirements. In 2013, they began working as a Senior PeopleSoft Consultant at Graviton Consulting Services. In this role, they specialized in helping organizations successfully manage data. Finally, in 2022, they began working as a Senior Technical Business Analyst at SymSoft Solutions. Here, they assist the California Department of Water Resources in improving their processes, services, products, and software.
Karen Borba obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA in Management Information Systems, General from San Jose State University Department of MIS. Karen also holds a Certified Tester, Foundation Level certification from ASTQB - ISTQB in the U.S. - Official Page, which they obtained in June 2021. In March 2006, they obtained a Data Administration and Upgrade REL 8.44 Ed 1 certification from Oracle University. Additionally, they hold a MCP certification from Microsoft.
