Steve Miles

Steve Miles has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Steve worked at Synacor from 2006 to the present, starting as a Business Intelligence Engineer and progressing to Product Manager and Sr. Product Manager roles. At Synacor, they developed and managed data mart and reporting tools, handled web log reporting systems, and conducted testing projects and user segmentation studies.

Prior to Synacor, Steve was the Owner and Developer at Groundbreak.com from 1998 to 2006. Steve built multiple software products, including the flagship "Ultimate Affiliate" software, which gained recognition in magazines and books. Steve also managed sales, installation, and support for over 1,000 clients.

Steve's earlier experience includes working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Rochester from 2003 to 2006, where they conducted research on coagulation factor VIII. Steve utilized mass spectrometry and protein purification techniques and presented their findings at scientific meetings.

Before that, Steve was a Graduate Student at Wake Forest University from 1995 to 2002, pursuing their Ph.D. Steve researched the signal peptidase complex and protein secretion, gaining expertise in protein expression and purification, molecular biology techniques, and the development of a web-based Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for the university's labs.

Steve Miles completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Virginia Tech from 1991 to 1994. Steve then pursued further education at Wake Forest University, where they earned their Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics between the years 1995 and 2002.
