Incorporated as a spin-off company of UMPSA Holdings, Synbion was founded in 2015 to commercialise electronic nose (E-Nose) sensor technology developed by Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA).

Subsequently, the company expanded its capabilities into the biotechnology sector, focusing on delivering sustainable agarwood production through advanced organic inoculation technology. This innovative approach supports environmentally responsible practices while enhancing the quality and yield of agarwood cultivation.

In addition, Synbion positions itself as a one-stop centre for Water Solutions. As a comprehensive water, wastewater, and chemical solutions provider, Synbion has established strategic and technology partnerships with several reputable local and international companies. Through these collaborations, Synbion delivers holistic and integrated solutions to industrial clients, particularly in the areas of water treatment and wastewater management, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and sustainability across operations.
