Naveen Ganta

Lead Protection Engineer at SynchroGrid

Naveen Ganta has a diverse range of work experience in the electrical engineering field. Naveen started their career as an intern at NTPC Limited in 2013, where they worked as an Electrical Engineer. In 2014, they gained technical expertise in Power Electronics and Control systems as a Research Assistant at Beijing Jiaotong University. During this time, they designed and modeled an Electric Vehicle charging station for simultaneous fast DC charging of Electric Vehicles.

In 2016, Naveen joined The University of Texas at Austin as a Graduate Research Assistant. Their research focused on the integration of renewable systems and their control techniques, voltage regulation, modeling of distribution networks, load flow, and power quality analyses, as well as power system protection. Naveen was involved in projects evaluating and strategically deploying Edge-of-Grid devices for voltage regulation.

In 2017, Naveen worked as a Power Engineer Intern at Power Engineering Consultants (PEC). Their role involved performing power system studies, calculations, and providing relaying applications and settings for utilities and industrial customers. Naveen gained expertise in issuing relay settings with microprocessor-based SEL relays and conducted power system studies such as power flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, and protective device coordination.

Since 2018, Naveen has been working at SynchroGrid Limited LLC as a Relay Settings Engineer. Their responsibilities include performing short-circuit studies, misoperation analysis, implementing protective relaying operations for microprocessor-based relays for utilities. Naveen also conducts power system studies, wide-area coordination studies, and provides engineering support to generation, transmission, and distribution operators. Naveen is experienced in reviewing and preparing NERC PRC standards compliance reports and analyzing DFR waveforms.

Overall, Naveen Ganta's work experience showcases their expertise in power systems, renewable integration, voltage regulation, and power quality analyses.

Naveen Ganta began their education journey by completing their secondary education at Sainik School in Korukonda, Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. Following that, from 2009 to 2011, they attended Narayana Junior College in Hyderabad, focusing on major courses such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Subsequently, Naveen pursued their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar, graduating in 2015. Naveen then moved to The University of Texas at Austin, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in Power and Energy Systems, from 2015 to 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Naveen Ganta obtained the certification of Engineer-in-Training from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers in February 2017.
