Laura Johnson is currently the Head of Intellectual Property at Synchron, a position they have held since 2025. Prior to this role, they served as the VP of Intellectual Property at Dexcom from 2003 to 2017, where they successfully built and led the IP department. Laura was also the Founder of the Women’s Leadership Initiative at Dexcom and later worked as the Vice President of Innovation and Strategy at the same company. They began their career as a patent examiner at the USPTO from 1993 to 1998, and founded Idea Rocket Consulting in 2018, providing strategic consulting services. Laura earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College in 1993.
