Ed Nykaza

Ed Nykaza is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data science and acoustics. As a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Syncretic since March 2024, Ed focuses on harmonizing diverse philosophies and ideas. Previously, Ed served as the Vice President of Data Science and Clinical Research at Glooko from February 2021 to February 2024, and as a Data Scientist and Data Science Manager at Tidepool.org from January 2018 to January 2021. Ed's background includes a significant tenure with the US Army Corps of Engineers from January 2004 to January 2018, where Ed contributed to applied research projects related to military noise environments and their impacts. Ed's early career includes roles as a Laboratory Technician at Michael & Associates, Inc., and a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State University, where Ed specialized in acoustics. Ed holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Acoustics from Penn State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
