Steve Markowski

Steve Markowski has a diverse range of work experience in various finance and accounting roles. Steve is currently serving as the Global Corporate Controller at Syndio since February 2023. Prior to this, from October 2019 to February 2023, they worked at Wish as the VP of Strategic Finance. Steve also held the position of Controller at Wish from January 2017 to September 2019.

Before joining Wish, Steve Markowski worked at Jasper Technologies from March 2014 to October 2016, where they served as the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Steve played a significant role in the company's pre-IPO preparation process and managed a team of eight.

From May 2011 to March 2014, Steve Markowski worked as the Corporate Controller at Responsys, a newly public company providing on-demand software. Steve managed a team of more than 30 employees and actively implemented process improvements, including remediation of a material weakness in financial reporting.

Prior to Responsys, Steve Markowski held the role of Chief Financial Officer at LookSmart from August 2008 to January 2011. Steve was responsible for managing traditional CFO responsibilities and also oversaw legal, human resources, and facilities.

Steve Markowski's earlier work experience includes serving as the VP Finance and Chief Accounting Officer at Symantec Corporation from 1990 to 2007. During this time, they managed a team of over 300 employees and played a key role in strategic planning and numerous mergers and acquisitions.

Before joining Symantec Corporation, Steve Markowski worked at KPMG as a Senior Tax Manager from 1981 to 1990. Steve provided tax compliance and consulting services primarily to companies in the high technology industry.

Throughout their career, Steve Markowski has demonstrated expertise in financial management, process improvement, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning.

Steve Markowski pursued their education from 1979 to 1981 at Santa Clara University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Accounting.
