Perkins is the founder, managing partner, and CIO of Skylar Capital Management LP; the founder/president of SkyFi; the founder/president of SynMax; the owner of Small Ventures USA, LP; and the author of Die With Zero.
Perkins has more than two decades of experience in the energy trading industry, focusing on capitalizing on mispricing in natural gas markets through option structures and applying fundamental strategies across crude oil, power, and other energy trades.
Perkins began on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange in 1991 and later held trading and leadership roles at El Paso Energy, Statoil, Zahr Securities, AIG Energy Trading, and Centaurus Energy before founding Skylar Capital in 2012.
Perkins earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa, where Perkins also played football for the Hawkeyes.
Perkins was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and lives in Texas with their spouse Lara; they are the parent of two daughters, Skye and Brisa.
