Michael Grant

Michael Grant has a strong background in technology and engineering, with experience in various leadership roles. Michael currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Synthesis Labs and Synthesis Software Technologies since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at AssetPool as a Non Executive Director starting in 2023. From 2017 to 2022, they were the Chief Technology Officer at DataProphet, where they drove value delivery to customers and led innovation in machine learning techniques. Before that, Michael worked at Transnet as a Principal Engineer from 2014 to 2017. Michael also held multiple roles at CBI-electric: low voltage, including Group Leader, Senior Engineer, Design Engineer, and Electrical Engineer, where they managed various business units, represented the manufacturers association at local and international standards committees, and conducted research and development projects.

Michael Grant earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc(Eng)) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2004. Michael then went on to complete a Master of Science in Engineering (MSc(Eng)) degree in Electrical Engineering at the same institution from 2005 to 2006. In 2010, Michael obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. Michael also holds a certification as a Registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) from the Engineering Council of South Africa, which was obtained in 2012. Prior to their university education, Michael attended St Johns College from 1996 to 2000, but no degree or field of study is mentioned for that period.
