Ashhad Alam

Ashhad Alam has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ashhad began their career as an Intern in Corporate Finance at Engro Polymer & Chemicals Ltd in 1993. Ashhad then worked as a Computer Programmer/Instructor at Pakistan Steel Mills Corporation from 1994 to 1997. Following this, they joined the Textile Institute of Pakistan as a Project Officer from 1997 to 1999.

In 2000, Ashhad joined Shell where they held various roles including Contracts Specialist, Supply Chain Executive, Regional Procurement Manager, and Global Category Lead. Their responsibilities at Shell involved managing procurement activities and category implementation across multiple regions. Ashhad was also involved in providing expertise in contracting and procurement discipline excellence.

In 2016, Ashhad joined Synthomer as a Senior Procurement Manager, handling projects in Asia. Ashhad later transitioned into the role of Senior Procurement Manager, responsible for managing indirect spend in Asia. Currently, they serve as the Head of Indirect and Logistics Procurement for Asia at Synthomer.

Ashhad Alam received their Bachelor of Science degree in Basic and Applied Mathematics and Physics from F. G. Sir Syed College, The Mall, Rawalpindi, from 1988 to 1990. Ashhad then pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, General from the Institute of Business Administration from 1996 to 1998. Prior to these degrees, they completed a Foundation degree in Pre-Engineering from Public School, Hyderabad, from 1986 to 1988. Ashhad Alam also holds additional certifications, including Assessor for Graduate Hires from Synthomer and Assessor for Experienced Professional Hires from Shell, obtained in 2018 and 2011, respectively. Ashhad is also a LEAN Practitioner certified by Accenture in 2011.
