David Ring is a highly experienced technical leader in the materials science sector, currently serving as the Global Technical Director for Synthomer since May 2018. In this role, David leads a global team focused on the Consumer Materials business, overseeing new product development and managing a substantial innovation portfolio valued at over £50 million. Previously, David held several positions at Synthomer, including Global Technical Head for Consumer Materials and Senior Technical Manager for Lithene & SSA, where responsibilities included R&D, technical service, and translating market needs into technical programs. Prior experience includes roles at AkzoNobel, where David managed a team in polymer development and conducted research on next-generation paint technologies, and at Onyx Scientific Ltd as a chemist. David holds both a Doctorate and an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham.
