Michael Silbernagel

Michael Silbernagel has over 15 years of work experience in the field of cybersecurity and IT infrastructure. Michael started their career at Shaw Communications as a Technical Support Analyst, providing internet support to residential and business customers. Michael then worked at the City of Calgary as a Knowledge Management Analyst, where they were responsible for system support and document management.

Michael then joined CompuCom as an IT Consultant and Systems Administrator at Shell Canada, where they handled provisioning, access management, and identity and access management. Michael later joined SysGen Solutions Group as a Senior Technical Account Executive and IT Project Analyst, taking on responsibilities such as infrastructure implementation, troubleshooting, and project planning.

At SysGen Solutions Group, Michael also served as a Senior Security Analyst/Lead, where they acted as a trusted advisor and consultant to senior executives on cybersecurity policy, governance, risk, and compliance. Michael led the cybersecurity consulting team and created the Enhanced Security Services program.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, project management, and client relationships.

Michael Silbernagel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems (BSc. CIS) from DeVry Institute of Technology, specializing in Computer Science, from 2001 to 2005. Michael also pursued Business Operations and Management (BISOP) studies at the same institution, starting in 2002 and finishing in 2004. Over the years, they have obtained various certifications including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from LinkedIn in 2021, Datto Certified Advanced Technician (DCAT) in Continuity from Datto, Inc. in 2020, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2019, among others.
