As co-president of Syska Hennessy Group, Cyrus Izzo leads one the world’s leading engineering firms, with more than 500 professionals across 18 offices. Cyrus, who joined Syska in 1993 as an electrical engineer from Ammann & Whitney, became co-president in 2007. He has overseen the expansion of the firm’s capabilities into consulting, information, and communications technology; overseen geographic expansion into new offices in Dubai and Shanghai; codified best engineering practices; and established a collaborative and diverse management team to lead the firm’s future growth.

In 2005, Cyrus established Syska’s first global practice, Critical Facilities, which has become a world top-three (per ENR) mission critical engineering firm, designing core systems for some of the world’s most important data centers and trading floors. He continues to be a hands-on leader, overseeing several of the firm’s key client relationships and projects with organizations such as JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Morgan Stanley.

Additionally, Cyrus is responsible for launching Syska Innovations LLC and assisted Syska in becoming a founding member of the AEC Angels, which is a venture fund covering seed through Series B + investments.

Cyrus holds a BSEE from Manhattan College, and is a licensed professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Michigan, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

As a member of Syska’s Board of Directors, Cyrus is responsible for the company’s long-term growth and corporate governance of the privately held firm, which was founded in 1928. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), New York Building Congress, 7×24 Exchange International, and ACE Mentor Program of New York.
