Darnell Shields III

Darnell Shields III is a Junior at Michigan Technological University pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Darnell has gained diverse experience in various engineering roles, including positions as a Transportation Engineering Intern at AECOM and Electrical Engineer at Syska Hennessy Group. Previous roles include Mayor Youth Commissioner for the City of Chicago, where Darnell advised on youth issues and facilitated environmental justice initiatives, and several internships in engineering and construction, such as a Pre-Construction Engineer Intern at Clayco and Surveyor Intern at GRAEF. Darnell’s background also includes marketing and outreach roles, notably as a Sales Marketing Intern at After School Matters and a Youth Ambassador with ComEd, where Darnell engaged in renewable energy initiatives and graphic design.
