James Coe

James Coe is Syska Hennessy Group’s Critical Facilities Director and a Senior Principal. He leads a team of more than 150 professionals located throughout Syska’s 18 global offices, providing critical-facility design, consulting, and commissioning. Syska is consistently ranked among the top three of data center design firms by Engineering Record News (ENR).

James joined Syska as a vice president and Southeast operations manager in 2006. He brings over 35 years of experience in engineering operations, project management and design. He provides consulting, design, reliability assessments and commissioning for mission critical facilities for clients such as AT&T, Bank of America, Chevron, Cisco, Cleveland Clinic, DAMAC, Du/EITC, Duke Energy, General Electric, General Motors, IBM, Oracle, Serverfarm, Stack, Truist, Verizon Wireless, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Navy.

James is a professional engineer (PE) registered in 41 states as well as a registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD). He is also an Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. He previously served in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Engineer and Surface Warfare Officer.
