Val Loh

Senior Principal & Information & Communication Technology Practice Leader at Sysko

Val Loh has been with Syska Hennessy Group since 1999 and is involved with projects that include multiple high-rise buildings in South Korea, pharmaceutical campuses spanning from the northeast U.S. to Beijing and Shanghai, China, control and command centers for various critical-facility clients, a 130-ft private yacht named M. V. Mea Culpa, and medical colleges and hospitals for New York City’s top healthcare providers. Val led Syska’s technology efforts on the 123-story, 555-m (1,819-ft) Lotte Super Tower (a/k/a Lotte World Tower) in Seoul, South Korea. For two years, he coordinated multiple ICT services through various design iterations; the building topped out in 2016 and is slated to be the tallest building in Asia.

As global practice leader, Val helps lead and grow the firm’s information and communication technology (ICT) practice. With over 25 years in the industry, he has extensive knowledge of technology consulting and engineering with specialized experience in control and command centers, audiovisual and Smart Building systems. Val

Val helps clients optimize their business operations and find solutions to their technology challenges. He is also a part of Syska’s SHAPE Advisory, Vision Award Program Steering, Action Learning, and Firmwide Leadership committees.

Recently, Val has pivoted from frequent travels to leading virtual technical web conferences such as initiating PoE/IoT discussions internally, being a panelist in Siemens Smart building Webinar Series, and being a speaker in a Smart City virtual conference held by the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects in San Antonio. He has also recorded a podcast for the Risk Insurance Management Society.

Outside of Syska, Val is a member of Professional Women in Construction’s New York Chapter, the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA), and the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA).
