David Kang

Senior Research Engineer at System

David Kang has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. David began their career as an Associate Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago from July 2004 to August 2006. From September 2006 to June 2012, David worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they also served as an Instructor during an unspecified time in 2011-2012.

David then joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an Econometrician/Statistician, working from July 2012 to July 2014. Following this, they took on the role of Research Scientist at The Research Alliance for New York City Schools from July 2014 to June 2017.

In 2015, David worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Teachers College of Columbia University from September to December. David then transitioned to Enigma Technologies, Inc. and held the positions of Data Scientist from October 2017 to June 2018, and Senior Data Scientist from June 2018 to August 2019.

Currently, David works at System Inc. where they started as a Data Scientist in August 2019. David later advanced to the position of Senior Data Scientist in March 2021 and further to the role of Senior Research Engineer in January 2023, where they are presently employed.

David Kang has a strong educational background in economics. David first attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2004, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Following this, they pursued further studies at UCLA, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Economics from 2006 to 2008. David Kang continued their education at UCLA, completing their Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from 2006 to 2012.
