Michael Schaffer

Michael Schaffer is the Sr. Director, Engineering - Search at System1. Michael has over 18 years of experience in the field of software development and engineering.

Michael started their career at HO Sports as a Systems Engineer. There, they were one of the three systems engineers responsible for running the company's computer and phone systems. Michael designed and implemented a customer tracking application/database for the customer service department. Michael also helped roll out a complete systems management application company-wide.

After HO Sports, they worked at Go2Net as a Software Development Engineer in Test. There, they wrote and executed test plans. Michael also created test automation and frameworks for ecommerce sites Hypermart, VirtualAve and FreeYellow.

Most recently, they were at Infospace as a Senior Engineering Manager. Michael worked there for over 14 years before moving to their current position at System1.

Michael Schaffer earned a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington.

Michael Schaffer reports to Antonio Magnaghi, CTO. They work with Morgan O’neill - Director, Dev Ops, Matthew Bren - GM, Syndication.
