Mark Jonathan Davis, FEI, FGS, is an experienced energy sector leader currently serving as a Fellow at the Energy Institute since February 2024. As the Chief Executive Officer of Capterio since May 2019, Mark has focused on addressing energy transition challenges, particularly related to natural gas waste in the oil and gas industry. Mark also holds the position of Senior Advisor and Acting New Venture CEO at SYSTEMIQ Ltd., working on system-level changes in energy through coalition building and early-stage investment. Previous roles include Senior Vice President at Intertek, where leadership spanned global quality assurance services, and Junior Partner at McKinsey and Company, managing extensive projects across the energy sector. Mark's foundational experience includes positions at Royal Dutch Shell, where strategic advice was provided at high executive levels. Mark holds a Master of Arts in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, an MBA from IMD, and a PhD in Geophysics from the University of Liverpool.
