Ryan Effgen

Ryan Effgen has over 15 years of experience in instructional design and writing, currently serving as a Senior Instructional Designer at Systems Plus, Inc. from August 2006 to the present, where responsibilities include creating engaging online courseware for the Foreign Service Institute. Additionally, Ryan has acted as a literary contest judge for prestigious competitions, including the Scholastic Awards and the Virginia Commission for the Arts Fiction Fellowship. Previous roles include instructor at WritopiaLab, technical writer at Parature, and intern at the PEN/Faulkner Foundation. Ryan holds an MFA in Creative Writing from George Mason University and a BA in English from the University of Iowa.
